AALocated among Trần Phú, Hoàng Diệu and Điện Biên Phủ streets, opposite to Vietnam Military History Museum, before 1945 Lenin park had been called Robin park by the French. However, Hanoi people often called this Canh Nông park. This name was based on the design of the statue of Soldiers in the park with the image of two French soldiers, one spreading his rifle, one throwing the grenade towards the direction of the Flag Tower of Hanoi, below there are four statues “Scholar, Farmer, Worker, Trader”, which represent four basic classes of An Nam citizens at that time.

AABefore 1945, Canh Nông statue was one of the most superficial and sophisticated works of Hanoi. However, it no longer existed due to the impact of the temporary events. When Japanese overthrown French in March 1945, Trần Văn Lai (Hanoi city’s Mayor under Trần Trọng Kim’s Government), the intellectuals with patriotic thought progressive, decided to pull down all monuments and statues of colonialism including Canh Nông statue.
